WAR OF THE WORLDS: THE LEGACY
“Big trouble in Little Midgard”
Written by David Evans
What has come
before: The Earth has been occupied by the Martian invasion force. Even after
the mystical barrier over Europe fell, Earth’s forces were no match for the
alien military machine. The heroes of Earth fought valiantly but have been
reduced to little more than hit and run terrorists against the Martian
overlords. Hope did come in the form of Odin the All Father of the Asgardian
Gods. Odin could not commit the armies of Asgard to the cause of his frequent
allies due to his pact of non-interference in the affairs of Earth, which he
had agreed with the “Sky Fathers” of the other pantheons of gods. However he
did grant sanctuary to the heroes’ children and families allowing them to fight
on unhindered by worry. These children would be taught the ways of the
Asgardian warrior and form an army capable of freeing their homeworld. Now in a
sector of Asgard lovingly referred to as “Little Midgard” these refugees of
Earth train and learn to use their amazing abilities to free a world.
The Little Midgard province of Asgard: 2025
Bethany Whitman-Braddock looked out of her bedroom window into the courtyard below. The bright light of the morning forced her to squint until her eyes became accustomed to the glare. It was days like these that she really missed her parents but she knew that they had work to do and she rarely saw them together anyway. To say that her parents didn’t get on was an understatement, Betsy Braddock and Dane Whitman or Captain Britain and The Black Knight as they were more widely known had a major personality clash that there was just no getting around. Beth was under no illusion that her birth was not planned, she was well aware she was the result of one drunken night of ill advised passion but that didn’t stop her loving her parents and them loving her even if they couldn’t stand the sight of each other. Beth continued to take in the view of the courtyard two floors below her, she saw some of her fellow “warriors in training” starting their daily work out. Their Valkeryie Brunhilde was looking even more sour faced than usual today Beth felt this did not bode well. As if in answer to her thoughts Beth heard a voice coming from the doorway of her room “Hildy wants all our squad on the training square asap, she said you’ll need this” Beth turned using her telekinesis to catch the short sword that had just been tossed in her direction. The source of the voice was the small blonde frame of Valerie Richards code named Marvel Girl, behind her was the well over six foot frame of Angelica Grimm a.k.a Rockface. Beth fastened the sword around her waist and joined her friends. “The others are waiting for us in rec room” Angelica said. The three heroes in training walked down the corridor to the spiral stairwell that led to the recreation room. Seated on the sofas in the centre of the room were the rest of Beth’s squad, Spider boy Benjamin Parker and Mustang Clint Barton jnr. Clint saw the ladies approach and yanked Ben to his feet. “ Easy on the symbiote!” Parker yelped.
“ Sorry, I forget my own strength sometimes “ Clint apologised.
“ Well that’s real comforting coming from the son of the She-hulk” Parker muttered as his symbiotic costume squirmed back into place from where Mustang had bunched it up at the neck.
“ When your ready, gentlemen!” the booming voice of Volstagg the Lion of Asgard was heard from just outside the rec room “ Brunhilde and I are ready to begin today’s weapons training”.
Three hours later five very tired young people slumped back onto the sofas they had occupied just hours earlier. “ They sure are driving us harder these days” Mustang sighed as he unstrapped is sword and took his quiver of arrows off his back.
“ It’s not surprising what with Franklin’s squad disappearing investigating the Gamma Zone” Beth replied. At this both Valeria’s and Ben’s heads dropped “Oh god! I’m sorry guys I’m sure Franklin and May are both fine and will be back before you know it”
“ I sure hope so” Ben sighed “ what’s Spider Boy without Spider Girl to tell him what to do”. Angelica hugged Valeria as she wiped the tear from her eye. “ It will be our turn soon enough to go back to Earth and kick some Martian tail and maybe find our friends while we’re at it” Mustang said trying his best to sound positive.
Mary Jane Parker looked at her son and his friends from across the room. Her heart went out to them, they had such a responsibility on their young shoulders and it was true that Brunhilde and the others were working them very hard. Of course she knew that was the way it had to be if they were to be the liberators of Earth as everybody hoped and she hoped that training would be helping her daughter May now wherever she was right now.
The
Mayoral Offices, Little Midgard
In the chambers of the town council Mayor James Rhodes addressed his fellow members. “ I know that with what has happened recently with Franklin’s team you are reluctant to sanction another squad to go to Earth but its not like I am sending them against a fleet of Martian tripods. This is a simple escort mission to retrieve Jocasta and her new born son and bring them back here”. Mayor Rhodes said clenching and unclenching his fist as he paced at the far end of the long meeting room, his manner not inspiring confidence in his words.
“ I actually agree with you James” Crystal said from her chair to his right “these children have been training for this for years and they need to see first hand what they are going to be up against” she looked around at the other council members Scott Lang whose own daughter was on Franklin’s missing squad, the now wheelchair bound hero U.S.Agent, the council’s chief scientist Alyssa Moy, Doctor Jane Foster and the husband and wife duo of Danni Moonstar and James Proudstar who had became members of the Asgardians due to Danni’s role as a Valkeryie. No one looked Crystal in the eye but all however reluctantly agreed.
“ That’s settled then” James Rhodes continued “all that remains now is to choose who goes”.
The
Rec Room
“ For the last time will you just pick one it’s not that hard we’ve all managed,” an exasperated Ben Parker yelled tugging his short brown hair in frustration.
“Yeah come on Beth you need a code name if your gonna be a proper hero” Angelica agreed.
“ I know I know I just want it to be right that’s all, I don’t think Albion is for me, Pendragon seems a bit presumptuous, my mums Captain Britain but that’s too long winded anyway and…”
“How about Britannia?” the until now silent Valeria chimed in
“ Hmmm Britannia does have a certain ring to it and even sounds a little feminine” Mustang added.
“ Yeah I suppose that’s ok, Britannia it is” Beth smiled.
“Thank Christ for that” Ben mumbled.
“ Huh guys could you come with me a minute” the voice of the mayoral aide Matt Jones said as he entered the room. “Mister Rhodes would like a word”. Matt lead the young heroes out of the Rec Room and into the square at the centre of Little Midgard, past the giant statue of some of the fallen heroes of the war and into the office of James Rhodes former hero Warmachine and now mayor of the Asgardian province of Little Midgard.
“Thankyou Matt that will be all for now and please tell your mother that the Asgardians say your father Rick will be as right as rain in a couple of weeks.” Mayor Rhodes said rising from the chair behind the his desk and signalling the others to take a seat.
“Will do mister R, call if you need me” Matt answered as he turned and left. Mayor Rhode’s face darkened and he mumbled something under his breath about the kid have no respect just like his father. Already seated in the room were two of the other heroes in training. There was Wild Thing Rina Logan the daughter of the X-man Wolverine and Makkara the son of the Eternal Makkari, at the moment he was calling himself the Whizzer but he was worse than Beth when it came to choosing a code name.
“Hey Mak what’s going on are we in trouble or what” Ben whispered to his best friend as he took his seat.
“I have no idea Matt just told me the big cheese wanted to see me, I thought it might be about the seeing stone we tried to plant in Angelica’s room last week but with everyone else been here as well I doubt it” Makkara whispered back.
“If you two shut up we might find out what’s going on, idiots!” Rina snarled at the two whisperers. Makkara made the mime of zipping up his mouth, locking it and throwing away the key, Rina extended the middle claw on her left hand in the direction of Makkara and turned back round to face Mayor Rhodes. Makkara played up mock shock but then too concentrated on Mayor Rhodes.
“ I suppose you want to know the reasons for you been here this morning, well you have been selected to be our next squad to go back to Earth.” Mayor Rhodes began rising from his chair and again clenching and unclenching his fists subconsciously giving away his addgitation. “ I know you are aware we have lost all contact with the first team” he continued looking at Valeria and Ben in turn as he did so. “ However they have been in the field for a while now and are trained to our highest standards and I have no doubt we will be seeing them again soon, but onto your mission you are to return to Earth and escort the Avenger Jocasta and her new born son back to the relative safety of Little Midgard. You have been chosen as your teachers believe you are the most ready and your compliment of abilities will work well together, I’m sure I do not need to remind you that although you are not to engage the enemy you are going into occupied territory and danger will be ever present. You are to retrieve Jocasta and Son and return here and nothing else do I make myself clear on this?” Mayor Rhodes asked raising an eyebrow towards Rina.
“ Whatever you say sir” Rina slightly sarcastically answered on behalf of all present.
“Good, any questions so far?”
“ I have one sir” Valeria piped up from the back of the room, “how exactly are we going to get back to Earth? Non of us are mystics and Lord Odin will not open any portals to Earth again after last time.”
“ I’m glad you asked that one Miss Richards. If you all like to look out of the window I believe you’ll find your answer.”
All seven young heroes moved to the window to look out over the central square. Parked in the middle was what could be described as a very bulky and heavily armoured bike. “You can come in now sweetheart!” Mayor Rhodes called across the room to the double doors through which everyone had entered.
“Jesus dad at least call me Jo in front of everyone” came an answer as a young girl dressed in oily overalls entered the room, multiple tools of all shapes and sizes hanging from her belt. She was Josephine “Sprocket” Rhodes the only daughter of Mayor James Rhodes. Although she was not in training as a warrior her skills were invaluable as a mechanic/inventor and general genius. “Are you guys gonna love what me, dad and Uncle Scott have cooked up this time” Jo continued beckoning the others to follow her to the square to take a closer look at the vehicle. “Allow me to introduce Hank, Hank is the prototype vehicle we have come up with to allow us cross dimensional access to Earth and back without a mystic or petitioning Lord Odin for a portal. Hank is extremely manuverable and has a full compliment of offensive and defensive weaponry."
“How have you achieved cross dimensional warp capabilities?” Valeria asked as she circled the machine staring intently at its design.
“I see your daddies brains run in the family. Ok and I swear to god I am not making this up the power source is a dog” Jo answered looking a little sheepish.
“A dog!” Ben and Makkara yelped in unison and then promptly fell about laughing.
“I’m not kidding Jo a little agitated answered as she unlocked a hatch in the side of Hank revealing a large two headed dog drooling profusely out of both its mouths. “This is Lockley the secret offspring of Lockjaw and our town guardian Cerberus.”
“Hang on I thought Cerberus was a guy, when Herc brought him he certainly gave that impression” Ben said a little shocked
“Apparently not, please continue” Mayor Rhodes interrupted.
“Lockjaw is quite literally a sly old dog” Mak smirked but soon shut up as Mayor Rhodes turned to give him a withering stare.
“As I was saying” Jo finally continued “Lockley like his daddy can teleport at will but unfortunately only to places he can visualise which is why we have spent the last three months showing him every picture map and reference of Earth we can lay our hands on and now he’s ready to go and with the help of Hank amping his natural abilities we can send in a team to where they are needed.”
“Right now we know how and why you just need to know when. Go get some rest kiddies you leave in three hours” Mayor Rhodes said bowing slightly and gesturing back to the Rec Room with his out stretched hand.
Mary Jane set seven places at the table she had spent the last hour preparing a meal for the young heroes, least I can do is make sure they don’t go hungry she thought to herself as she laid the final place. In truth she was doing anything to keep her mind occupied as the thought of spending her second child to join her first and her husband in a war zone was almost too much for her to bear. Mary Jane looked around as she heard the commotion of the young “Avengers” coming downstairs. They were all decked out in their costumes each carrying some kind of weaponry they had just picked up from the armoury. Mustang had a bow and quiver of arrows his father the Avenger Hawkeye had made especially for him, Wild Thing carried two samurai swords she wore strapped across her back, Makkara had two short swords on either side of belt as did Marvel Girl, Rockface had a large curved scimitar type sword while Spider Boy carried no weapons at all as he could create anything he wanted from his symbiotic costume. They all piled their respective weapons in the corner of the room and took a seat at the table Mary Jane had just laid. She looked at them all they were obviously very excited but she could see the nerves as well especially in her son Ben who was purposely avoiding her gaze. It was then they all heard the comforting sound of whirring gears that always came before JARVIS their robotic butler and chief cook entered a room. He carried a large silver serving dish in his outstretched mechanical arms, which contained the roast chicken he had just prepared for his young charges. JARVIS had been a gift to the community from Tony Stark and had looked after the children since they were tiny, his personality was based on the deceased family butler who raised Stark himself.
“ Good Evening my young sirs and ladies allow me to wish you the very best of luck on your fourth coming adventure of course I know you will not need it” JARVIS said in his stuttering clockwork voice. “Now please eat up you will need all your strength if you run into those troublesome Martians.”
“Cheers J!” Ben and Makkara said in unison and promptly began devouring the meal placed in front of them.
The
Gates of “Little Midgard”
Sprocket got Lockley settled in his position at the centre of Hank, she could tell her friend was very nervous but she knew he could do this and he knew what his abilities meant to the resistance. The young heroes arrived lead to the waiting battlewagon by Mayor Rhodes. They each took up their positions in the various seats situated about the machine and strapped themselves in. The entire town had turned out to see them off, the air was thick with a sense of anticipation as all present could remember seeing the last group of young heroes off and not seeing them again. All the other heroes in training as they were referred to by the Asgardians had shown up. Makkara noticed with a little smugness on his part how envious some of them looked. Valeria as the most technically minded of the group had elected to drive Hank, Sprocket had shown her the controls but as she was the daughter of Mister Fantastic and every bit as bright as her father she almost immediately understood even the most complex of the systems. Hank started up and pulled away from the crowd swiftly going faster and faster across the Asgardian plains. Lockley closed his eyes and concentrated and a shimmering portal of silver energy appeared before the speeding vehicle. "Next stop Wakanda” Angelica shouts above the roar of the wind, then as suddenly as the silver portal appeared it was gone and so were was everything else. Back at the town gates Marlo Jones was giving Mary Jane Parker a reassuring hug as the town watched the young heroes vanish into thin air.
The
plains of Wakanda
“Holy s*%t!” Makkara yelled as Hank came to a sudden and jolting stop. “You alright back there Parker, you didn’t mess your nice clean symbiote did you?”
“Why don’t I show you what a mess this symbiote can make jerk” Ben snapped as he straightened himself out from been tossed about the interior of Hank
“That will teach you to strap yourself in when told to Parker. Is everybody else ok?” Britannia asked opening her hatch to look out over the plains.
“We’re fine” was what the others were about to say but instead Hank and everybody in it was thrown half way across the plain by a massive energy discharge.
Britannia opened her eyes all was dark around her and it took her a few seconds to realise she was actually underneath the upturned Hank. She concentrated and her powers flared to life forming a sword and shield reminiscent of her father’s except made from pure psionic energy. The sword and shield gave off an eerie but useful pinkish light, which allowed Britannia to see enough to wriggle free of the heavily damaged Hank. As soon as she came in to daylight and could see the scene around her she immediately wished she’d stayed under Hank. Lumbering towards the upturned vehicle was a huge silver and grey armoured monster with more weaponry than a fleet of Martian tripods. Britannia looked around thankfully everyone seemed okay and were all clambering out of the wreckage. She turned back round psionic sword clenched ready to do want she could to stop the mechanical beast that had decimated Hank. To her surprise it screeched to a halt less than a meter in front of her. A hatch opened in the creature’s back and three armoured beings took to the sky. “You must be the spawn of that witch Braddock judging by the gaudy costume” a smooth smug voice mocked her from the air “Nice sword by the way I’ll be sure to gut you with it. It’s a shame my oh so noble cousin isn’t amongst you I would have enjoyed matching armours with her showing her who the real genius in the Stark family truly is.”
“Arno! You son of a bitch, I’m gonna tear you a new ventilation hole” Rina screamed as she leaped her claws extended from a nearby pile of wreckage.
“I see the passion between us still runs deep my little wild cat” Arno smirked as he manuvered out of Wild Thing’s reach.
“Believe me Stark any feelings I once had for you ended the day you sided with those alien scum” Rina snarled through gritted teeth as she landed back on the ground.
“Those alien scum will leave me as ruler of this planet once they move on my dear, who knows I may even let you back into my chambers suitably bound of course.” Stark said smirking at the feral hero. “But enough of this chit chat simulating as it is. Armoured Division, Warmachine kill these junior heroes for me would you.” Stark yelled pointing at the young heroes only just pulling themselves clear of the wreckage of their transport. At this he fired a beam of pure energy directly at Valeria, which she only just managed to deflect by erecting an invisible force wall in front of her. However the impact was great enough to propel Valeria back into the wreckage of Hank, where a jagged piece of metal imbedded in her unprotected back and skewered out of her chest narrowly missing her heart.
“You piece of crap, I’ll kill you!” Angelica roared as she used her ability to control the earth to form two giant hands under Stark which then slammed together encasing the would be Iron Man in a shell of mud and rock. Arno tumbled to the floor of the plain allowing the equally enraged Rina and Angelica to pounce on him and begin to pound the unholy crap out of his armour. With Stark somewhat surprisingly in hand Britannia had a moment to survey the scene. The two armoured warriors Stark had referred to as his Armoured Division were actually Steel Skull and Iron Maiden who if Britannia remembered from her lessons were the twin children of Obadiah Stane, Hirito and Yashida. Steel Skull was currently attempting to remove the sticky substance from his skull shaped helmet which Spider Boy had just sprayed him with while simultaneously trying to dodge the kicks and punched the young arachnid hero rained down on him. Panic struck Britannia as she notice the Iron Maiden heading for the seriously wounded Marvel Girl, when suddenly a silver flash appeared between the two young women which cleared to reveal a large two headed and extremely pissed off dog. “Looks like Stark and his pals has pushed our quiet little Lockley a bit too far” Britannia thought to herself. With Valeria in good hands or rather paws Britannia turned her attention to the mechanical monster Warmachine. “It’s a good job Sprocket isn’t her to see this thing staining her family legacy” Britannia again thought to herself. Mustang was busy trying to blind the beast with his Asgardian arrows by taking out its eye sockets. He had succeeded on the right hand side but was having a little trouble with left. Mean while Makkarra had draw his short swords and was using them to remove and slash at the belly of the beast. As Britannia surveyed the scene in front of her she couldn’t help but feel a little proud, admittedly Hank was totalled and Sprocket was gonna kill them and Valeria was hurt but they had just been caught unaware by a dangerous enemy on their very first mission and they were winning. No sooner had this thought finished in Britannia’s mind; she was hit by the flying forms of Angelica and Rina as they were thrown savagely away by an enraged Arno Stark. The three hit the wreckage of Hank close to where Valeria was impaled.
Britannia looked up to see a badly damaged Arno Stark coming towards them leaking some kind of energy all over the place, and just like that the whole situation turned on its head.
From the corner of her eye Britannia could see Steel Skull finally grab a hold of Spider Boy and fling into Mustang screwing up his shot at Warmachine’s remaining eye. Lockley was fairing better as he opened teleportals around Iron Maiden so every blow or energy blast she tried she ended up hitting herself, but it was only a matter of time before he tired and she got a shot in. With Makkara the only one left standing things did not look good as Arno Stark approached the downed heroes and was quickly joined by the now free Steel Skull and Iron Maiden. Warmachine had also managed to pin Makkara under his giant foot. Energy crackled in the air around the armoured villains as they prepared to deliver a combined deathblow, Britannia found herself closing her eyes despite herself.
“As the only one still in any state of consciousness little Braddock I shall leave you until last. I admit your two friends surprised me with their ferocity whoever has been hiding and training you is to be commended.” Stark said breathing heavy from the exertion of battling both Rockface and Wild Thing. “My masters knew someone would come for the robot brat it was just a matter of time. Admittedly the child has escaped me but we can remedy that later and I now have your amazing pet pouch to show my bosses and I’m sure my good friend Mr. Cassidy and his symbiote will have a wonderful time getting information out of whichever of you I leave alive.”
Britannia could feel the heat coming off the energy circulating around the Armoured Division’s gauntlets, she tensed ready for the end thinking what a disappointment she must be. “No!” Britannia yelled out loud shakily raising to her feet, there was no way she was just gonna give up like that what kind of hero would that make her. She raised her Psi shields forming a shield around her friends. Britannia knew she could not last long against Stark and his minions alone put they would have to tear her apart atom by atom before she would allow them to hurt any of her friends. Suddenly all seemed to stop around her and she was no longer sat in front of the business end of a repulsor blast, instead she was by the side of a crystal clear lake. In front of her was the most beautiful woman Britannia had ever seen she rose from the lake that was part of her form. Of course Britannia knew this was The Lady of Lake and there fore she must be in Avalon, with parents like hers she’d have to be pretty dumb not to.
“Welcome child your time of choosing has at last come I have looked forward to this moment since your unexpected conception.”
Britannia could feel power rising up inside her, it was warm and welcoming and if she was honest a little scary. She felt like she could do anything.
“You will be the first of my new Pendragons” The Lady continued “You will help restore balance to the world and repel the invaders but know this they have aid even your parents and their allies know not of”
“This feels wonderful I can feel all of Avalon as a living thing around me” Britannia gasped. “Although I don’t mean to rain on your parade my lady but the situation I’m in back on Earth I don’t know long I’ll be able to fly the Pendragon flag”.
“ You must find a way my, the power is within you. You are greater than you imagine yourself to be”.
Britannia opened her eyes again to be confronted by the image of Stark and his minions through the pinkish haze of her psi shield. A massive blast of repulsor energy hit her shield hard, it knocked her to her knees but the shield held much to her surprise. She concentrated and could feel the power of the Pendragons mixing with her natural abilities, she felt powerful and more importantly at this point looking at Stark she felt angry. Britannia pushed her psi shield outwards slamming Stark and the Stanes into Warmachine. Stark’s already damaged armour was forming even more cracks across its surface. The force of the collision had also forced Warmachine to release Makkarra who was now busy raining a hurricane of punches on Steel Skull and Iron Maiden. Stark began firing a myriad of repulsor blasts at Britannia who had lowered her psi shield but had reformed her now much strengthened sword and shield combination. Britannia strode forward towards Stark brushing his blasts aside with her shield until she was eye to eye with him. Britannia raised the tip of her psionically created sword to Stark’s uncovered throat.
“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t use this to fry your traitorous brain Stark” Britannia snarled through clenched teeth trying her best to sound as menacing as possible.
“Tell you what I’ll give you two. One your supposed to be a hero and heroes don’t do that kind of thing or it makes them no better than the villains, if I remember the comic books correctly and two I think my little pet might get a tad upset” Stark smirked gesturing upwards with his eyes. Britannia looked up to see Warmachine train all of its remaining weaponry on her unconscious friends. “Believe this is called checkmate my dear” Stark said as the smirk on his face nearly split his face in two. This soon faded as Warmachine began lurching and spluttering sparks and eventually slumped to the ground in a lifeless heap. Atop the armoured monster Britannia could see what looked like a small metallic child.
“You hurt selfs mother before self was fully aware, now you will lose all this technology you are so reliant on” the metallic infant announced in an oddly adult voice. With this all the armours of Steel Skull, Iron Maiden and Stark himself began malfunctioning and generally going crazy is how Britannia would later describe the scene.
“Oh crap!” Stark whispered to himself. “Alkema execute retrieval protocol Beta one” Stark continued this time into some communications device mounted on his wrist. A few seconds later the sky above was filled with what looked like a heavily armoured version of an Avengers Quinjet. Magno locks on steel tether lines descended from the belly of the ship and attached to each of the members of the Armoured Division. The lines tensed and yanked the would be villains away into the ship which disappeared over the horizon as quickly as it had arrived. Britannia was left standing where Stark had just been moments ago not surprisingly a little confused. She watched as the small metallic child, who had been left standing where Warmachine had been strolled over to her.
“Greetings I am Aaron pleased to meet you, I take it you are our escort to Asgard”
“ I well erm I guess we are” Britannia mumbled starring intently at the little figure in front of her.
“Is she ok mother?” Aaron asked.
“She is just a little taken aback by your abilities my son” a voice from behind Britannia replied. Britannia whirled around to see a damaged Jocasta stood there. “I am afraid Stark and his thugs caught me unawares after the Panther had left. I managed to fight them off and get Aaron JR away but sustained quite a bit of damage. It was only after Aaron was fully aware that his abilities to override machinery and technology became apparent, that is when we returned here to aid you.” Jocasta explained.
“And thank god you did it seems none of us where prepared for Stark. The problem is Lockley over there can port us back home but he requires a boost from the equipment from our vehicle which is currently scattered across this plain.” Britannia apologetically answered.
“Oh I’m sure my son can piece together something to do the required job.” Jocasta smiled as Aaron scampered off across the plain picking up the pieces of equipment he needed along the way. He waved to the other young heroes who were just pulling themselves back together and tending to the injured Valeria. Jocasta was bang on the money within an hour young Aaron had jerry rigged some equipment capable of giving Lockley his required boost.
“I think Sprocket might be out of a job” Mustang grinned nudging Britannia. “By the way as elected team leader it’s your job to tell Sprocket what we did to Hank”
“Oh crap!” Britannia gulped as the group vanished in a silvery flash.
AUTHOR'S NOTES
I have always really liked the idea of the legacy hero, carrying on the traditions of the parents or the mentors. So I have decided to create my own and where better than here in the Pendragons universe. This is of course only a possible future but I would like to return here from time to time and see what might have been. Some of these characters you may recognize from other books chiefly Mustang who appeared in What If 114, wild Thing from MC2 and of course Marvel Girl from Fantastic Four. These are characters I really enjoyed and decided I would like to use them here, although they are definatly not the same as you have seen before. Please let me know what you think of the story and the characters and what you like to see them do. Who knows where Aaron's jerry rigged transporter could dump them. I would also like to thank Barry for his help.
