Barry Reese is a freelance writer whose credits include: the Rook series, The All-New Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z, D6 Space: The Fires of Amatsumara and Marvel Encyclopedia v. 5: The Marvel Knights. He has a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science and works as a professional Librarian in Georgia. He is married to artist Cari Reese and together they have a son named Julian!

Savage Tales of Ki-Gor Is Released ((6/17/09)

Savage Tales of Ki-Gor, Lord of the Jungle is now out from Wild Cat Books. This is the second in their line of Pulse Pounders Digests, which are affordably priced digest-sized collections of stories. This particular volume features two stories by Barry, both featuring the title hero: "The Ivory Goddess" and "The Devil's Domain." These stories were previously published in a now out-of-print small press edition entitled The Devil's Domain. This new collection features a beautiful wraparound cover by Manuel Morgado and a set of lovely interior illustrations by Ron Wilber.

Barry will be a featured guest at the 2009 Dragon*Con, to be held September 4-7 in Atlanta, Georgia. If you can make it, please do so -- Barry would love to meet his fans!

News & Sightings (5/21/09)

Also, Devil's Domain: Tales of the Jungle Lord is going to be reissued as part of Wild Cat Books' Pulse Pounders series of digests. The new edition will feature 8 interior illustrations and a brand new cover.

Lots of Updates (4/23/09)

Volume four of the Rook will be released in a few months time and will be followed by a one-shot volume entitled Claws of the Rook. The Claws book will feature several supporting characters from the Rook universe coming together to form a new team of heroes. The book will include guest-appearances from Wayne Skiver's Prof. Stone, classic pulp character Ki-Gor and lots more. Following that, the Rook series will resume with volume five, which Barry will begin writing soon. Volume five is going to be a return to hardcore pulp, with most of the superhero elements that have begun creeping in exiled to the Claws series.
